History

The late Howard Carlson began his lifelong career in the jewelry trade upon graduating from Bowman's School in 1946. When he returned to Jamestown, he took over a trade shop and did benchwork for most of the area jewelers.

In 1972, Howard's son, Christion, joined him in the shop, later followed by Howard's wife, Helen, and their daughter, Sondra. In 1988, Carlson's moved the second floor trade shop to a beautiful first floor jewelry and gift shop keeping the bench workers in full view for the customers.

In 1994, Weeping Willow Gifts, was opened next door to Carlson's Jewelry Smithing, and offering unique gifts.

Today

Carlson's Jewelry Smithing now has two craftsman and a knowledgeable sales staff to handle all your jewelry needs. All of our stone setting and jewelry work is done on the premises, and you can select from our extensive choice of mounting for setting either a new stone or resetting your stone in one of our yellow and white gold or platinum mountings.

We carry a wide selection of fine diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones in a large variety of shapes and sizes and a large selection of engagement rings, wedding bands, anniversary rings, and right hand rings.

Our selection of fine jewelry many earrings and pendants, of which many are available in matched sets. We have a large selection of charms in 14k and sterling, as well as the popular Pandora charm collection. This collection offers a unique design in charm bracelets.
